Registration festival May 2023 closed

25 May 2021

The next edition of the CantaRode International Choral Festival will take place from May 18-21, 2023 in Kerkrade, the Netherlands. Registration for the 2023 festival is closed. Choirs from all over the world are welcome to participate in the competition, workshops and numerous performances.

In a short period of time CantaRode has managed to gain an important place on the international calendar of choral festivals. Over 50 choirs, from Canada to Moscow and from Norway to the Philippines, have participated in the past six editions. These are all amateur choirs, who deal with choral music in a professional way. It involves men’s choirs, women’s choirs or mixed choirs. The choirs can register in the categories ‘chamber choirs’ (12 – 32 singers) or ‘large choirs’ (from 33 singers).

International jury
The heart of the festival consists of a two-day competition, at which the choirs will be judged by an international jury of good repute. In addition to this competition numerous concerts will be organized in Kerkrade and the surrounding area, both in the Netherlands and just across the border in Belgium and Germany. The choral singers, as well as anyone interested, can also take part in various workshops. The singers from all over the world will be given plenty of opportunity to meet up with each other.

MOD Festivals
The CantaRode Choral Festival is characterized by an international cooperation with the Choral Festival of Marktoberdorff in southern Germany (MOD-Festivals), which will take place one week after CantaRode 2023. This makes it interesting for choirs to register for both festivals.
