Korallerna

Lund - Sweden

Korallerna is a well established choir for young women from Lund, Sweden and is conducted by Linda Alexandersson. The choir was founded by Eva Svanholm Bohlin in 1978. The choir members perform a wide range of music: classic and modern, sacred and profane. During the spring of 2015-2016, Korallerna have recorded a lot of new material which is available here on the website and on Spotify.

Korallerna has a long tradition of participating in international choir competitions and holds the 24nd place of 50 positions in total in the category of female choir in Interkultur’s World Ranking List. Korallerna is also ranked 114 on Interkultur’s top 1000 choirs in the world.

During the summer of 2014, Korallerna won one gold medal in the category of Profane Music and one silver medal in the category of Female Chamber Choir in the World Choir Games in Riga. Among other earlier achievements are two gold medals in Sing‘n’Joy Vienna 2012 and the first prize in the Sacred music category in Cracovia Cantans, in Krakow 2011. Other achievements are two gold medals in the World Choir Games in Xiamen, China 2006, and in the Grand Prix, three years in a row (Grado – 2003, Rhodos – 2004 and Montreux – 2005).

Linda Alexandersson – conductor
Linda Alexandersson (b.1984) is a composer, arranger and conductor.  She is the conductor of Korallernas since 2012. She studied at the Malmö Academy of Music and the Academy of the Arts in Reykjavik. She works as a conductor and freelance composer. During Interkultur’s “Canta en Primavera 2017- Festival Coral Internacional” in Malaga, Spain in April 2017, Linda Alexandersson was awarded the competition’s conductor prize.
