Gothenburg Girls’ Choir

Gothenburg Girls’ Choir is an independent choir from Gothenburg, Sweden, that has been active for over ten years. The choir consists of 25 singers, aged approximately 16 to 25, and is known for its artistic ambition and strong sense of community.
The repertoire is primarily classical, but also includes pop and folk music from various cultures. In recent years, the choir has performed works such as God in Disguise by Larsson, Stabat Mater by Pergolesi, and Fauré’s Requiem. Additionally, new compositions have been written specifically for the choir, including I Am by Lina Nyberg, based on texts by the choir members, and Min Själ (My Soul) by Anna Cederberg-Orreteg.
The choir collaborates regularly with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, including a performance at the Family Christmas Celebration in 2022. In addition to performances in Sweden, the choir has toured internationally, visiting Berlin, Copenhagen, and Oslo.
With a blend of musicality, innovation, and international experience, the Gothenburg Girls’ Choir is a dynamic and versatile ensemble.

Conductor
Birgitta Mannerström Molin is a trained vocal coach and choral conductor from Gothenburg, Sweden. She has led the Gothenburg Girls’ Choir since its founding. In addition, she is a senior lecturer in choral pedagogy and conducting at the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg and works as a choir and vocal teacher at Hvitfeldtska Music High School.
