The large number of singers who have signed up for the workshops shows that many are actively engaged in singing. I am proud of the growth of CantaRode in Kerkrade and its surroundings,&#8221; concludes Jo Schlangen, alderman. &#8220;Hence, this International Choral Festival can count on our support.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The board, together with a loyal group of volunteers, has spared neither trouble nor expense to organize another great festival. Moreover, we could rely on the support of the Municipality of Kerkrade and the Province of Limburg, for which we are grateful&#8221;, says Peter Thomas, chairman.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the two rounds of competition for the choirs, there are various workshops, several regional concerts with the participating and local choirs from South Limburg on Friday evening and a large choral festival (Sing Along) in the center of Kerkrade on Saturday afternoon and evening.<\/p>\n<p>Dion Ritten, artistic director: &#8220;The icing on the cake for us is the performance by VOCES8, an internationally famous ensemble from London. We managed, together with Parkstad Limburg Theaters, to book them for our final concert.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Peter Thomas: &#8220;We are looking forward to a special musical Ascension weekend.
